About
Human Rights | Transitional Justice | International Law and Courts
The International Justice Lab (IJL) was founded at William & Mary in 2019. IJL brings together faculty and students from across the United States to conduct research on human rights, transitional justice, and international law and courts. We aim to produce high-quality social science research that is relevant to policy makers, practitioners, and civil society advocates.
Our research has been published in leading, peer-reviewed social science journals such as the British Journal of Political Science, Human Rights Quarterly, the International Journal of Transitional Justice, International Studies Quarterly, and the Journal of Human Rights. Our researchers also write regularly for policy outlets like Foreign Affairs and Foreign Policy, and mainstream outlets, including Good Authority and The Washington Post.
We have been fortunate to receive generous support from the National Science Foundation, University of Southern California, and William & Mary.
